Theme of the day: Moscow and the Moscovites today: City highlights (by motorcoach) covering the history and architecture of Moscow. Stops are made at important Moscow landmarks: Spend time in Red Square - the spiritual center of Russia, see the GUM department store, and St Basil's Cathedral (view the exterior only), drive to the site of the Moscow University, stop at the Novodevichi Convent, visit ithe Cathedral of Christ the Savior (inside visit), and see many other important sites. A ride on the Moscow metro (if desired). Note: Driving to all listed sites are subject to time restriction due to heavy city traffic.

Time for lunch on your own in the city during a stop over.

Drive to the Moscow Center for the Russian national tranditions and ethnic arts and crafts. See the museum and hear an informal presentation on the revival of Old Russian traditions and on the collection of regional crafts from many corners of Russia displayed in the museum and the show rooms. Attend a presentation on Russian national character as it is depicted in Russian classical literature' ( by a U. professor). .

Lunch at the restaurant in the Center (Russian specialties)
Afternoon:
An educational visit to the Tretyakov Picture Gallery, housing a unique collection of Russian art (presented by an expert on Russian art).

Theme of the day: Moscow as the capital of medieval Russia. An educational expert led visit to the Kremlin compound: see the grounds and cathedrals. Visit the Armory Chamber, housing a rich collection: royal jewels including the famous Faberge eggs, and other treasures of the Russian tsars (all presented by a licensed expert).
