Description: You'll be staying at the Geneva Bay Retreat Center at Covenant Harbor Bible Camp. Since 1947, this faith-based camp and retreat center has been committed to providing excellent facilities and programming to the youth, families and adults who come to this lakeside location. Situated one mile west of downtown Lake Geneva on 52 beautiful wooded acres, the camp and retreat center offer an ideal location to learn, relax and create lasting relationships. The historic property includes several buildings left from the Sturges Estate created around the time of the Great Chicago Fire when wealthy families built their summer "cottages" at the lake and stayed for the summer season. Today, the Lake Geneva area is still known as Chicago's Summer Backyard. Guests are encouraged to explore the grounds and walk along the public access lake shore path. The path goes all the way around the lake (23 miles total) but even walking a small portion you'll see historic and modern homes, all beautifully kept.

Day One: Sunday, April 06 - Arrival and Check-in / Registration / Welcoming D...
Afternoon: Plan to arrive in Lake Geneva in the afternoon. Retreat center check-in available at 4:00 pm If you arrive early, you are welcome to bring in your luggage, have a cup of coffee and wait in the lounge or take a walk down by the lake until your room is ready. Pick up your arrival packet containing your room key, name tag and program booklet. If you arrive late, please pick up your packet at the front desk. Please be aware that program activities and scheduled times could change due to local circumstances. In the event of changes, we will alert you as quickly as possible. Thank you for your understanding.

Dinner: Buffet dinner at 6:00 pm in the lower level dining room. There will be several hot entrees along with a splendid salad bar. Grab a seat in the dining room and take your glass to the beverage center for your choice of soda, iced tea, coffee, tea or ice water. Meal times are a great opportunity to meet your fellow participants and talk about past programs you have attended.

Evening: Gather in our private meeting room at 7:15 pm for ORIENTATION. Your Group Leader will greet you with a warm welcome, review the up-to-date daily schedule and any changes,discuss responsibilities, safety guidelines, emergency procedures, and answer any questions you may have. Then you'll have a chance to introduce yourself to the group and tell a little about your hometown and hobbies.

Broadway's Peter Pan / Leonardo da Vinci / From the Wright Brothers to the Moon

Breakfast: Hot buffet breakfast at 8:00 am in the lower level dining room. You'll find a variety of hot and cold items along with fresh fruit and juice.

Morning: Gather in the lower level meeting room at 9:00 am for a lecture on BROADWAY'S PETER PAN. The musical is an adaptation of the J. M. Barrie play. The 1954 show starred Mary Martin in the title role. The show was broadcast live on NBC in 1955 and was the first full-length Broadway show presented on color television. Take a thirty-minute break at 10:30 am to stretch and perhaps take a walk outside. Come back to the meeting room at 11:00 am for a lecture on THE GENIUS OF LEONARDO DA VINCI. Explore the life of the original Renaissance man.

Lunch: Buffet lunch at 12:30 pm in the lower level dining room.

Afternoon: Gather in the meeting room at 2:00 pm for a lecture on DA VINCI AND HIS FLYING MACHINES. Enjoy some free time before dinner beginning at 3:30 pm.

Evening: Gather in the lower level meeting room at 7:15 pm for lecture on EARLY FLIGHT WITH THE WRIGHT BROTHERS.

Morning: Gather in the lower level meeting room at 9:00 am for a lecture on BROADWAY'S PETER PAN. Take a thirty-minute break at 10:30 am to stretch and perhaps take a walk outside. Come back to the meeting room at 11:00 am for a lecture on RICHARD WAGNER'S RIDE OF THE VALKYRIES. This is one of Wagner's best known musical compositions.

Lunch: Buffet lunch at 12:30 pm in the lower level dining room.

Afternoon: Gather in the meeting room at 2:00 pm for a lecture on RIMSKY-KORSAKOV'S FLIGHT OF THE BUMBLEBEE. This piece is easily recognizable because of its frantic pace. Enjoy some free time before dinner beginning at 3:30 pm.

Dinner: Buffet dinner at 6:00 pm in the lower level dining room.

Evening: Gather in the lower level meeting room at 7:15 pm for a lecture on THE SPACE RACE. It was the question everyone was asking. Would it be the Russians or the Americans?

Day Four: Wednesday, April 09 - Broadway's Mary Poppins / Theater Field Trip / Fr...
Broadway's Mary Poppins / Theater Field Trip / From the Wright Brothers to the Moon

Note: The theater/restaurant complex is ramped for easy access. Listening devices available for the show.

Breakfast: Hot buffet breakfast at 8:00 am in the lower level dining room.

Morning: Gather in the lower level meeting room at 9:00 am for a lecture on BROADWAY'S MARY POPPINS. Then board our motor coach at 10:00 am for a sixty-minute ride to nearby Fort Atkinson and The Fireside Theater. Started in 1964 by Dick and Betty Klopcic as just a pyramid-shaped restaurant, this family-run business has grown to include a 1000 seat restaurant, a 600 seat equity dinner theater and unique shops. Now run by Dick and Betty's son Rick and his wife Jane, the Fireside tradition of excellence continues with 5-6 professional productions each year, fine dining and offers its guests a place to create cherished memories. The Fireside's motto: People will come to a place they have been invited and will return to a place where they have been made to feel welcome.

Lunch: Plated lunch at The Fireside Theater served at 11:15 am. Today's menu includes your choice of coffee, tea or milk and fresh baked bread. Menu: tomato bisque soup, chicken piccata, and caramel apple cheesecake. Talk to your Group Leader Sunday night if you have food allergies or dietary restrictions.

Afternoon: Enjoy a MATINEE PERFORMANCE of the musical MARY POPPINS beginning at 1:30 pm. The Fireside is proud to be the first professional theatre in Wisconsin to present a sparkling new production of this beloved Tony Award winning musical. The world’s favorite “practically perfect” nanny comes alive on the Fireside stage serving up more than a spoonful of delightful music, dancing, and laughter that will transport and enchant audiences of all ages. Direct from Broadway and the National Tour, The Fireside’s production of MARY POPPINS features all the well-known popular songs, high-stepping dancing, and a treasure chest full of magic and mirth! There is only one word to describe this unforgettable production - “Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious!” We will re-board our coach after the show to return to Lake Geneva.
