Description: Friday Harbor Suites is an all-suites facility featuring spacious one bedroom rooms, each with one queen bed plus a comfortable pullout sofa sleeper with 7" mattress in the living room. All suites include a gas fireplace in every room, full size kitchen with utensils and coffee maker; on-site fine dining and lounge, and a great in town location accessible to museums, galleries, restaurants and services. Note: There are a very limited number of two bedroom/two bath suites at the Best Western Friday Harbor Suites. Those participants who are rooming with an “assigned” roommate will be given priority assignment of these suites on a space available basis.

Dinner: Our dinners are served buffet style so that you choose what works for you. Tonight’s dinner features NW green salad, home-made lasagna (choose from meat or veggie lasagna), and garlic bread – topped off with coffee, tea, iced tea, water and dessert of the day.

Evening: Welcome and get acquainted program follows dinner.

Day Two: Friday, October 03 - Coast Salish Archeology / Ferry Trip Aboard the I...
Breakfast: Continental Breakfast Buffet: featuring a variety of fresh fruits, assorted hot/cold cereals, assorted breakfast breads (toast, English muffin, bagel, etc.), cottage cheese, boiled eggs, coffee, tea, juice.

Morning: Morning Presentation "Views from the Islands" offers an insider’s look at contemporary life in the Islands, and explores issues affecting Island life. Then discover the authentic Coast Salish Native history with particular note of Island's rich archaeological heritage.

Lunch: Have lunch the way you like it! Lunch will be served buffet-style and features a soup of the day with salad bar (including green leaf / spinach salad, a variety of fresh raw veggies, potato salad, three bean salad, and more) – topped off with coffee, tea, iced, water and dessert of the day.

Afternoon: Enjoy a field trip aboard the inter-island ferry as it chugs through the islands. On-deck narration from naturalist to answer all your questions and help spot marine and wildlife as you cruise the islands.

Dinner: Our dinners are served buffet style so that you choose what works for you. Tonight’s dinner features NW green salad, grilled chicken, steamed veggies, and red potatoes or rice – topped off with coffee, tea, iced tea, water and dessert of the day.

Evening: Rousing presentation on regional exploration and island history.

Day Three: Saturday, October 04 - San Juan Island Excursion - American Camp and Eng...
San Juan Island Excursion - American Camp and English Camp National Parks; Roche-Harbor; Sculpture Park; Limekiln Lighthouse/Musical Farewell Program

Breakfast: Continental Breakfast Buffet: featuring a variety of fresh fruits, assorted hot/cold cereals, assorted breakfast breads (toast, English muffin, bagel, etc.), cottage cheese, boiled eggs, coffee, tea, juice.

Morning: Enjoy a daylong field trip around San Juan Island. Begin in the morning with exploration of a National Historic Park, and a visit Pelindaba Lavender Farm. Search for wildlife along the scenic west coast of the island, as we cross the island for afternoon explorations.

Lunch: Since we’ll be out exploring, we’ll enjoy a picnic/bag lunch today. Our caterer will provide whole fresh fruit, chips, bottled water, and a chef’s choice fresh bakery treat for everyone. Each member of the group will build their own sandwich to their liking – choosing from an assortment of meats, cheese, breads, and condiments / accoutrements.

Afternoon: Field trip continues to the picturesque Limekiln Lighthouse, now a whale observation outpost known to locals as whale-watch park, and other points of scenic and cultural interest. End up at the North end of the island and visit either the historic Roche Harbor Village (with its lovely marina and English gardens) or visit the Westcott Bay Sculpture Park (where you can view hundreds of outdoor sculptures thoughtfully placed amidst acres of quiet forests, wetlands, meadows and rocky outcroppings).

Dinner: Our dinners are served buffet style so that you choose what works for you. Tonight’s dinner features NW green salad, prawns & scallops (in sun-dried tomato pesto), penne pasta and steamed veggies– topped off with coffee, tea, iced tea, water and dessert of the day.

Evening: Special farewell program features historical folk music from a performer / musicologist revered as an Island icon and local treasure. Performance features homespun songs and stories of people who built America while living a simpler life. This unusual and irreverent collection of songs conveys remote history through toe-tapping music.

Day Four: Sunday, October 05 - Departures
Breakfast: Continental Breakfast Buffet: featuring a variety of fresh fruits, assorted hot/cold cereals, assorted breakfast breads (toast, English muffin, bagel, etc.), cottage cheese, boiled eggs, coffee, tea, juice.

Morning: Program concludes following breakfast to allow time to return via ferry to mainland and return to greater Seattle area by late afternoon. Breakfast available early for those wishing to depart on 8:00 AM ferry.
