Day Two: Monday, April 07 - Discuss literature and the Monterey area with Jac...
Discuss literature and the Monterey area with Jack London. Field Trip of the Monterey Peninsula. An evening of Ragtime music.

Breakfast: 7:30 AM: Optional morning stretching class followed by 8:30 AM Breakfast.

Morning: 9:30 AM: Welcome to Monterey from Jack London. Discuss his works and the works of fellow writers, Henry Miller and Robert Louis Stevenson.

Lunch: 12:00 PM: Fresh vegetables & sandwich makings served buffet style.

Afternoon: 1:00 PM: Field Trip: Discover some of the treasures of the Monterey Peninsula including the Carmel Mission, Fisherman's Wharf, and Carmel Beach.

Dinner: 6:00 PM: Dinner.

Evening: 7:00 PM: Explore the world of Ragtime Music beyond Scott Joplin, taught by a talented pianist.

Learn about Point Lobos State Natural Reserve. Enjoy some time being a tourist.

Breakfast: Morning 7:30 AM: Optional long, slow stretching & breathing exercises followed by 8:30 AM Breakfast.

Morning: 9:30 AM: Learn about the natural and socio-economic history of Point Lobos State Natural Reserve, a natural history jewel of the area, with resident coastal biologist.

Lunch: Sack lunch.

Afternoon: Free Afternoon. Be a tourist on your own to explore the area. Public bus service available across from the campus driveway.

Dinner: 6:00 PM: Dinner.

Evening: 7:00 PM: Famous Monterey Film. (To Be Announced)

Lodging: Hidden Valley Inn or Wright Hall

Day Four: Wednesday, April 09 - Field trip to Point Lobos. Wine, Wonderful Wine
Breakfast: 7:30 AM: Resident faculty member leads optional long, slow stretching & breathing followed by 8:30 AM Breakfast.

Morning: 9:30 AM: We board the bus for an adventure at Point Lobos, the State Reserve that is a natural history jewel of the area. The Natural History instructor will guide us through the area on short walks and with much information about this stunningly beautiful and fascinating place.

Lunch: 12:00 PM: Enjoy a picnic lunch alfresco then continue to explore Point Lobos.

Dinner: 6:00 PM: Dinner.

Evening: 7:00 PM: Local winemaker introduces wines. Tasting included if you wish.

Day Five: Thursday, April 10 - Join John Steinbeck on a tour of some of the loc...
Join John Steinbeck on a tour of some of the locales of his novels & short stories. Enjoy lunch at his house, then travel to the Elkhorn Slough, the largest tidal salt marsh in California outside of San Francisco Bay.

Breakfast: 7:30 AM: Optional long, slow stretching & breathing exercises followed by 8:30 AM Breakfast.

Morning: 9:30 AM: John Steinbeck leads a field trip to visit some of the locales of his novels and short stories.

Lunch: 12:00 PM: Enjoy lunch at John Steinbeck's House.

Afternoon: 1:30 PM: Travel to the Elkhorn Slough, an ecological treasure, home to hundreds of species of plants, animals, and birds.

Dinner: 6:00 PM: Dinner.

Evening: 7:00 PM: Gifted pianist presents the life & music of Mozart.
