Day Two: Monday, October 06 - Theme: Prairie Landscape and Early House Architec...
Note: Day on the motor coach.

Breakfast: Breakfast buffet at hotel.

Morning: Explore Lincoln Memorial Garden Ostermeier Prairie Center and see the natural environment of the area as it existed in the 1800s with site staff. Visit an early stone house and structures nearby and experience a hands-on session with period appropriate tools with local historians and preservationists. Enjoy a narrated bus ride out of Springfield to lunch and Lincoln’s New Salem State Historic Site.

Lunch: Lunch at a local restaurant or catered.

Afternoon: Walk through Lincoln’s New Salem State Historic Site and village to see and discuss "Early Construction Techniques from Archeology and Preservation" with site interpretive staff and local historian/archeologist. In Springfield, tour the Lincoln Home (1835/1855) and visit the Arnold House exhibit on archeology and preservation of mid-1800 homes with Lincoln Home staff.

Dinner: Dinner at the hotel.

Evening: Presentation, "Summary Overview of 18-20th Century Architecture and the 1893 World's Fair Columbian Exposition" with Anthony Rubano, Project Designer, Illinois Historic Preservation Agency.

Day Three: Tuesday, October 07 - Theme: Frank Lloyd Wright - Champion of the Prair...
Note: Walking day

Breakfast: Buffet breakfast at hotel.

Morning: Illustrated lecture on "Frank Lloyd Wright: The Man and Emergence of Prairie School of Architecture" by Larry Betz, Dana-Thomas House docent. Learn about "Furniture Designs by Frank Lloyd Wright" by Frank Marchant, Dana-Thomas House docent.

Lunch: Restaurant downtown or box lunch.

Afternoon: Lecture on "Sculpture and Richard Bock" by Dr. Sharon Grimes, Curator and Director of the Richard W. Bock Sculpture Museum. Learn about Frank Lloyd Wright designed art glass, Japanese prints and pottery.

Dinner: Dinner at the hotel.

Evening: Presentation on Susan Lawrence Dana who commissioned a fresh young Chicago architect to “remodel” her home in 1904.

Day Four: Wednesday, October 08 - Theme: House Architecture Style
Note: Motor Coach Day

Breakfast: Breakfast at hotel, starts serving at 7 a.m.

Morning: We will start the day with a lecture, "Introduction to the Dana Thomas-House: Its Ownership and Restoration," by the Site Manager and then tour the Frank Lloyd Wright's masterpiece considered to be one of most “complete” of his early “Prairie” houses and contains the largest collection of site-specific, original Wright art glass and furniture and furnishings. The guided tour will take us through 12,000 square feet of living space which includes 3 main levels and 16 varying levels.

Lunch: Buffet lunch and talk on "Usonian, Sears"kit" and Bungalow Houses."

Afternoon: Tour of a Usonian-inspired home and visit a Sears “Kit” house and a Bungalow.

Dinner: Dinner at the hotel.

Evening: Enjoy a musical program by a local performer.

Day Five: Thursday, October 09 -
Note: At hotel.

Breakfast: Breakfast at hotel, starts serving at 7 a.m

Morning: View "Frank Lloyd Wright (Mike Wallace Interviews)," followed by a Q&A and discussion on “What Wright Saw and Encouraged: The Prairie and its Role in House Architecture,” with Anthony Rubano, Project Designer, Illinois Historic Preservation Agency. Program ends at 10:30 am.

Lincoln's TombDedicated in 1874, Lincoln Tomb is the final resting place of Abraham Lincoln, his wife Mary, and three of their four sons, Edward, William, and Thomas.
