Filed Trip: Discover Zagreb Today's Zagreb has grown out of two medieval settlements that for centuries developed on neighbouring hills. The first written mention of the city dates from 1094, when a diocese was founded on Kaptol, while in 1242, neighbouring Gradec was proclaimed a free and royal city. Both the settlements were surrounded by high walls and towers, remains of which are still preserved.

Field Trip: Discover Varazdin: The city's rich history spans eight centuries. It was home to the region’s wealthiest nobles, landowners, artisans and artists, especially in the late 1700s, when the city flourished and became the capital of Croatia.

Field Trip: Discover Kumrovec The old village centre of Kumrovec under the protection of historical monuments with the birth-place of Josip Broz as its most significant site started to be developed.The experts of the Zagreb Museum of Arts and Crafts restored the house to its original condition. Additionaly, the grounds were landscaped and a monument to Josip Broz Tito by an academic sculptor was erected in the courtyard..The cultural-historical and the fine arts sections of the museum display were established in 1950.

The hotel offers 229 units, including 7 suites, 10 semi-suites and 2 handicapped accessible rooms. The hotel lobby bar, as well as the hotel restaurant with its rich and recognizable culinary offer. Our youngest guests will find entertainment in the children's playroom. All hotel rooms are equipped with satellite TV, telephone and Internet connection and washrooms with either a bath or shower. Majority of rooms are equipped with a mini-bar. Additional features available include the whirlpool - massage pool for a maximum of 15 persons and two Finnish and Turkish steam baths, as well as a hairdresser's salon. The use of the massage pool is included in the room price, while the use of saunas is extra.

In the afternoon the visit to Plitvice Lakes National Park requires at least 3 miles round trip of walking and exploring the parks incredible scenery.

Filed trip: Karlovac was built in the 16th century as an unique city core formed as a six-pointed star with a purpose of defense from the Turkish conquerors. Besides Karlovac, only two other towns in Europe have similar plans (Palmanova in Italy and Novy Zamk in Slovakia).

Afternoon:
Field Trip: Plitvice Lakes Croatia's first National park established in 1949 covers 296.85 km2 of breathtaking natural splendor becoming with it the largest among the eight national parks of the country. The park harbours a grand collection of waterfalls, gallery of lakes, forest and diversity of animal life. The lakes are renowned for their distinctive colors, ranging from azure to green, grey or blue. The colors change constantly depending on the quantity of minerals or organisms in the water and the angle of sunlight. The sixteen lakes which are formed by natural dams of travertine are separated into upper and lower lakes

Field Trip: Zadar an ancient city full of historical and cultural monuments. It is three thousand years old, a city of old, tumultuous and dynamic history, often destructed, looted, devastated, every time emerging from the ruins stronger, richer and more beautiful. Zadar appeared for the first time in history in the 4th century B.C. as a settlement of the Illyrian tribe of Liburnians.`
