Evening: At leisure or you may like to visit the Saturday night Beatles tribute night at the Cavern Club-- Saturday with the Beatles Beatles Tribute Show featuring the Cavern Club Beatles Cavern Live Lounge Every Saturday celebrate the music of the Fab Four in the place it all began! The Beatles played the Cavern Club 292 times, from February 1961 to August 1963. The resident Beatle band THE CAVERN CLUB BEATLES, will take you from those early Cavern days through to Let It Be and beyond. The show takes place theatre style in the Cavern Live Lounge, the very stage that Sir Paul McCartney played on his return to this historic venue in 1999. Morning: Full day field trip to "Mendips" and 20 Forthlin Road-the childhood homes of John Lennon and Sir Paul McCartney - an opportunity to see where the Beatles met, composed and rehearsed many of their earliest songs. Imagine walking through the back door into the kitchen where John's Aunt Mimi would have cooked him his tea, or standing in the spot where Lennon and McCartney composed 'I Saw Her Standing There'. Gain real insight into Lennon and McCartney's humble beginnings. Mendips is a fine example of 1950s housing. It was lovingly maintained by John's Aunt Mimi and you can still see the house and garden as it was when they lived here. Neat, tidy, yet still cosy, it's a real home. A typical example of post-war terraced council housing, 20 Forthlin Road is plainer than Mendips. The McCartney men weren't as houseproud as Aunt Mimi so expect to see mismatched wallpaper, clutter and threadbare sofas.

Afternoon: The Casbah Coffee Club is now an English Heritage Grade 2 listed building due to its historic importance. 'We know of no other survival like it in Liverpool or indeed anywhere else.' Bob Hawkins (English Heritage). The Casbah Coffee Club (Est 1959) by Mona Best, owned by former Beatle, Pete Best and his brothers Rory and Roag Best. A must for all Beatles' fans, the Casbah Coffee Club is the place where it all began. This is the only original Beatles venue to remain unchanged complete with: - Star ceiling - painted by Pete, John, George and Paul - Rainbow room - Stage ceiling painted by Sir Paul McCartney - Aztec room - Ceiling painted by John - Spider room - Stage occupied by The Beatles, and many other Merseybeat stars - Cynthia's silhouette of John, Original guitar, mike, amps all used by The Beatles Continue on to theBeatle heartland: Matthew Street and the Cavern Quarter. This winding part of the city centre is a network of former warehouses and has developed into a mecca for Beatles fans, with a range of bars and shops dedicated to the Fab Four. The area is home to Liverpool's Wall of Fame which features the name of every Liverpool band or solo artist who has reached Number One in the UK charts. There are also statues of the Fab Four, including a solo cast of John Lennon leaning against the Cavern Pub wall, several group poses including Arthur Dooley's bronze Four Lads who Shook the World which is located on the wall opposite the Cavern and the wistful figure of Eleanor Rigby sitting on a bench in nearby Stanley Street. Continue on to the Cavern Club is the cradle of British music- see Paul and George’s school - John Lennon’s art school - Ringo’s childhood home - Penny Lane -- Eleanor Rigby’s grave - Strawberry Field - George’s home

Afternoon: The field trip continues with a coach ride around London's modern architecture. Field trip to the Churchill Museum and Cabinet War Rooms. Deep beneath the bustle of London lie the original Cabinet War Rooms - today part of the Churchill War Rooms - which sheltered the people at the heart of Britain's wartime government during the Blitz. In 1940, shortly after becoming Prime Minister, Churchill stood in the War Cabinet Room and declared: 'This is the room from which I will direct the war'. Today, you can step back in time to explore the secret headquarters where Churchill and his staff changed the course of history. Find out the stories of the people who walked the maze of corridors as London was being bombed above them. See where Churchill and his War Cabinet met, sometimes late into the night, and look through the lens of history into the Map Room, where the books and charts have remained exactly where they were left in 1945. In the Churchill Museum, explore the man behind the image as you discover more about the influences and pressures that shaped Churchill’s life and work.

On deck, games and more active enterainment are available including the Fitness Centre, a walk round the Promenade Deck; swim in one of the pools, play tennis, or take exercise classes such a Yoga and Pilates, or try a round on the golf simulator! Enjoy singers and dancers in stage shows in the Royal Court Theatre, movies in the cinema, pianists, jazz bands and string quartets in bars and lounges throughout the ship.
