Morning: Begin the day with a guided bus excursion of Montreal. See part of Montreal's vibrant downtown before heading up to Mont-Royal for a panoramic view of the city. Afterwards, explore the Olympic Tower and Biodome.

Lunch: Lunch at a local restaurant.

Afternoon: Enjoy a guided excursion of the Basilica Notre-Dame before transferring to embark Yorktown at 4:00 PM. Late afternoon embarkation briefing, introduction of ship staff, and safety drill. Enjoy a Road Scholar champagne toast.

Morning: Spend the day on board enjoying the ship and attending lectures as Yorktown navigates the St. Lawrence Seaway, a system of locks, lakes and canals.

Afternoon: Continue sailing along the beautiful St. Lawrence Seaway. Attend shipboard guest lectures.

Dinner: Dinner onboard.

Evening: This evening, arrive in Kingston, an historic city located at the junction of the St. Lawrence River, Lake Ontario and the Rideau Canal.

Morning: A morning excursion of Kingston includes its major landmarks, including Fort Henry National Historic Site, built in 1832, the Marine Museum of the Great Lakes, whose exhibits highlight the lakes’ maritime history, and Bellevue House, restored to its 1840’s period when it was home to Sir John A. Macdonald, who later became Canada’s first prime minister.

Afternoon: Sail from Kingston around mid-day as Yorktown cruises across Lake Ontario. Attend a shipboard guest lecture.

Afternoon: Disembark for an afternoon excursion to Niagara Falls including a thrilling Maid of the Mist boat ride to the base of the falls. Return to the ship in the late afternoon.

Day Seven: Thursday, June 27 - Detroit, MI 
Breakfast: Breakfast onboard.

Morning: This morning, choose between two optional excursions. Option 1: After an overview excursion of Detroit, continue to The Henry Ford Museum, which originated with Ford’s personal collection of historic objects and his desire to preserve them and to portray the Industrial Revolution. The permanent collection includes rare exhibits such as John F. Kennedy's presidential limousine, Abraham Lincoln's chair from Ford's Theatre, Thomas Edison's laboratory, the Wright Brothers' bicycle shop, and the Rosa Parks bus. The newly reopened Driving America permanent exhibit highlights the influence of the automobile on American culture and contains an unparalleled collection of historically significant vehicles and related artifacts. Other exhibits include antique machinery, pop culture items, locomotives, and aircraft. Option 2: After an overview excursion of Detroit, travel to the Ford Rouge Factory for a self-guided field trip. Learn about the history of the plant and the making of automobiles through short films that include rarely seen historic footage. Take a walking field trip of the Assembly Plant and see where new Ford F-150s are assembled. [Note: because production demands vary, production hours are inconsistent and we cannot guarantee you will see the assembly line in full action. However, you will be able to visit the assembly line area.] Also visit the Legacy Gallery where five historic vehicles are displayed.

Day Eight: Friday, June 28 - Alpena, MI / Presque Isle 
Breakfast: Breakfast onboard.

Morning: This morning, choose between two optional excursions. Option 1: Follow the Thunder Bay River and walk along the Maritime Heritage Trail to the Great Lakes Maritime Heritage Center. Through its exhibits and expert guides, learn about the history of the region as it relates to shipping on the lakes and see the archaeological conservation lab and shipwreck artifact gallery. Option 2: Drive approximately 30 minutes from Alpena to Presque Isle to discover the Old Presque Isle lighthouse, built in 1840 and one of the oldest surviving lighthouses on the Great Lakes. Continue to the New Presque Isle Light Station, built in 1870. Explore this lighthouse and the museum housed in the lighthouse keeper’s residence. Also walk the lovely grounds and nature trails and watch for birds.

Day Nine: Saturday, June 29 - Sault Ste. Marie, MI / Agawa Canyon, Ontario, Canada 
Breakfast: Breakfast onboard.

Morning: Today, choose between two optional excursions. Option 1: Cross the border into Canada for an all day train ride (8:00am until 6:00pm) traveling over towering trestles, alongside pristine lakes and rivers, through awesome granite rock formations, and a variety of forests of the Canadian Shield. The train makes an hour and a half stop at the floor of Agawa Canyon where there are walking trails for views of the canyon and several waterfalls. A box lunch will be provided. Reboard the train and retrace the route back to Sault Ste. Marie. Option 2: Spend the morning exploring Sault Ste. Marie, including visits to Soo Locks Park and its viewing platform over the locks, the Museum Ship Valley Camp, a 1917 Great Lakes freighter, now a museum, and the Tower of History which gives a panoramic view of the entire area including the Soo Locks, St. Mary’s River and the Canadian wilderness and also has exhibits on the history of the area. Return to the ship for lunch.

Lunch: Lunch onboard or lunch on the train.

Afternoon: Either continue your full day Agawa Canyon excursion or drive approximately 30 minutes outside of Sault Ste. Marie to the Point Iroquois Lighthouse, resting on a bluff above Lake Superior. Climb the lighthouse for views of the entire coastline, see the lighthouse keeper’s memorabilia, and walk on the boardwalk to the beach. Alternatively, spend the afternoon at leisure in Sault Ste. Marie with free time to browse the shops with Michigan made products or visit their small art museum.

Morning: Arrive at Mackinac Island in the morning. Enjoy a morning excursion of the island by horse and carriage and a visit to Fort Mackinac. Take in the beauty and grandeur of the Grand Hotel during a guided excursion before relaxing in a rocking chair on the world's longest porch.

Afternoon: Enjoy free time to stroll along streets lined with ginger-bread-trimmed buildings and browse in the charming shops.

Morning: Arrive in Charlevoix in the morning. This morning's excursion of the area focuses on Charlevoix’s history, including local architect Earl Young’s “mushroom houses’ and a visit to Castle Farms, the former Sears & Roebuck model working farm.

Day Twelve: Tuesday, July 02 - Saugatuck, Michigan 
Breakfast: Breakfast onboard.

Morning: This morning choose between two optional excursions. Option 1: This excursion includes a scenic ride through the dunes on specially designed dune schooners and a historical field trip of Saugatuck. Option 2: After a kayak safety and paddling introduction, board the kayaks for a scenic 1 ½ - 2 hour round trip paddle on the Kalamazoo River. All equipment will be provided and this excursion is suitable for beginners.

Lunch: Lunch onboard.

Afternoon: This afternoon choose between three optional excursions. Option 1: This excursion features a culinary peek into the village food and village life of Saugatuck. Expanding on the local fruit farms and the once neighboring fishing village of Singapore, the area continues to be a food producing hub on the lakeshore. There will be several stops with tastes that include smoky meats, award-winning wines of the area, hints of spice, delightful oils, richly roasted coffee, and local fruit spreads. The excursion, which will last approximately 2 hours, is easy walking, covering a total of a half mile. Option 2: Enjoy the afternoon at your leisure to explore Saugatuck and the neighboring town of Douglas. Known as Michigan’s “Art Coast,” the towns feature a wealth of art galleries and unique shops. Our ship is docked right in the center of Saugatuck and a shuttle bus will run between the pier, Douglas, and nearby Oval Beach on the Lake Michigan shore. Option 3: Enjoy a scenic ride through the dunes on specially designed dune schooners. (For participants not taking the morning dune ride)

Dinner: Farewell dinner and reception with the Captain.
