EasyFor people looking to exercise their minds more than their bodies. There’s minimal walking and not too many stairs.

Elevation Note
Elevations below 3,000 feet except during return drive, when elevations reach 5,000 feet.

 Equipment Requirements
Sleeping bag, pad, and tent. We offer camping equipment for rent to those who do not own or do not wish to transport this gear. High quality, two-person backpacking style tents are available for a $40 per tent rental fee (per trip). Sleep kits (15 degree rated synthetic sleeping bag, cotton bag liner, self-inflating sleep pad, and ground cloth) are also available, for $40 per person. Supplies are limited, so please place your rental gear reservation request well in advance by calling the O.R.E. office at 1-800-827-1358. Rental fees are payable by check or by credit or debit card.

Day One: Thursday, June 20 - Meet at 4:30 pm at Almeda Bar Campground, Orientation 
Arrive To: We will meet at 4:30 PM at the Almeda Bar Campground near Galice, Oregon. Look for us in the main parking lot. Our Lead Guide will show you how to pack your things into our waterproof river bags, and direct you to our campsite for the evening.

Dinner: Dinner will be served between 6 and 7 PM.

Evening: After dinner, a brief orientation and get-acquainted session will be held.

Day Two: Friday, June 21 - Travel to Galice Resort to leave cars, then raft on the river, watch... 
Travel to Galice Resort to leave cars, then raft on the river, watch Spring Chinook jump, and hike around Rainey Falls

Breakfast: Breakfast provided.

Morning: After breakfast on day two we will pack up camp, then we will car caravan to Galice Resort (a 10 minute drive) where you will park your vehicle. We will then return by van to Almeda Bar, and after a safety orientation we'll begin our journey downstream.

Lunch: Lunch provided.

Afternoon: Soon we come to Rainey Falls. Here we watch Spring Chinook jumping, and your guides will maneuver the boats through this Class V rapid as you hike around the Falls. Then it is back on the river for more rafting.

Dinner: Dinner provided.

Day Three: Saturday, June 22 - Raft on the river and stop at Zane Gray's cabin and Battle Bar 
Breakfast: Breakfast provided.

Morning: Rafts depart at approximately 10 am. We'll cover about 12 miles of river today, with stops (time permitting) at Zane Gray's cabin and Battle Bar (site of the 1855-56 Indian Wars).

Lunch: Lunch provided.

Afternoon: Rafting continues, amid the perfect combination of incredible geography, sparkling water, sunshine and fresh breezes.

Dinner: Dinner provided.

Day Four: Sunday, June 23 - Lay-over day at Mule Canyon Camp, and choice of two optional hikes to... 
Lay-over day at Mule Canyon Camp, and choice of two optional hikes to the Rogue River Ranch or along Mule Creek Canyon

Breakfast: Breakfast provided.

Morning: Lay-over day at Mule Creek Camp. Optional hikes: one mile (round trip) to the Rogue River Ranch, a remote BLM ranger station and museum of regional artifacts. Enjoy the beauty and learn more about defining, maintaining and protecting wilderness areas. And four miles (round trip) along Mule Creek Canyon to scenic Inspiration Point above Stair Creek Falls.

Dinner: Dinner provided.

Day Five: Monday, June 24 - Raft down the river through Mule Creek Canyon and Blossom Bar rapids 
Breakfast: Breakfast provided.

Morning: Today’s run is includes perhaps the river's most dramatic scenery, and certainly the river’s most notable rapids: Mule Creek Canyon and Blossom Bar.

Lunch: Lunch provided.

Dinner: Dinner provided.

Day Six: Tuesday, June 25 - Raft down the river for our final stretch to our take out point, van... 
Raft down the river for our final stretch to our take out point, van back to Galice and departures

Breakfast: Breakfast provided.

Morning: We depart our final camp at approximately 9:30 am for a float along the last 7 miles of river. Along the way we'll stop at scenic Flora Del Creek and waterfall.

Lunch: Lunch provided.

Afternoon: We typically arrive at Foster Bar, our take-out point, between 2:00 and 3 PM. Once we’ve unpacked the boats you’ll board a van for the ride back to Galice. Van travel back to Galice Resort is a 2 hour trip on a mixed surface road – mostly paved but with some gravel stretches. Route includes some sections of winding road, so if you’re particularly susceptible to car sickness you may want to bring Dramamine.
