Program #2257RJ
6 Days | 5 Nights
ACTIVITY LEVEL: Challenging
While all of our learning adventures offer extraordinary value, our "Best Value" programs were rated by our participants themselves who thought their dollar went particularly far.
Love to learn in a small-group setting? This collection of programs has at most 10-24 participants.
See our Small Group programs.
EasyFor people looking to exercise their minds more than their bodies. There’s minimal walking and not too many stairs.
ModerateThese programs get you on your feet and include activities such as walking up to a mile in a day through a city and standing in a museum for a few hours.
ActiveFor people who enjoy walking as much as two miles a day, perhaps to explore historic neighborhoods or a nature trail.
Moderately ChallengingFor hardy explorers who enjoy a good physical challenge, spending most of their days on the go.
ChallengingGet ready to keep up with our highest-energy group. These demanding — and rewarding — programs are for seasoned outdoor enthusiasts.
Elevation Note
Elevations below 2,000 feet on the trail, but above 3,000 feet on the drive back to Galice.

Breakfast: Breakfast

Morning: Today we'll hike the final eight miles out to trail's end.

Lunch: Lunch

Afternoon: Hike continues. We typically finish our hike between 2:30 and 3:30 pm. Once we’ve unpacked your gear from the boats, you’ll board a van for the ride back to Galice. (You'll be saying good-bye to the guides when you leave Foster Bar, as they will stay behind to finish de-rigging the rafts.) There are a number of routes back to Galice from Foster Bar. The shorter routes are sometimes closed by snow or by road construction, and we may not know which route we'll be taking until we arrive at the end of our hike. The shortest route is a 2 hour drive; the longest is a 3 plus hour journey. As a result, we'll may arrive back in Galice anywhere between 5:00 and 7:00 pm. All three drives a beautiful. And all three routes include some sections of winding road, so if you’re particularly susceptible to car sickness you may want to bring dramamine or similar medicine.

Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch
