Whistler Village is at 2214 ft elevation; highest elevation is 7494 ft, top of Blackcomb Mountain.

Equipment Requirements
Participants can bring their own ski equipment or rent from one of the on-site ski shops at their own expense. UV sunglasses/goggles strongly advised. Lift passes for 4 full days are included and provide access to both Whistler and Blackcomb mountains including the PEAK 2 PEAK Gondola, Terrain Parks and Superpipe, and Mountain Orientation Tours. There is a discount for non-downhill skiers to attend with a spouse or companion. Lift tickets and ski instruction are excluded in the discounted cost for companions; all other activities, meals, accommodations are included. Day One: Tuesday, January 22 - Arrivals and Orientation/Coast Mountain Ecology
Note: Whistler Blackcomb has a free shuttle service that operates in and around Whistler Village, along with the Upper Village, at regular intervals allowing you to return to the hotel at your convenience. There is also a public transit system that services other parts of Whistler Blackcomb, equipped to carry skis and other equipment. Taxis are also available.

Afternoon: ARRIVALS: Independent arrivals and transfers to the program hotel. Regular shuttle service is available from the Vancouver International Airport (YVR). Please note that rooms are generally not available until after 4:00 p.m.

Dinner: WELCOME DINNER: Welcome dinner at the hotel.

Evening: INTRODUCTIONS: Following dinner, you will meet for introductions, a review of the program and site orientation. Your group leader will review current conditions, equipment list and Whistler Mountain Trail map as well as consult with participants individually about their personal ski objectives for the week.

PRESENTATION: Introduction to British Columbia's Coast Mountain Ecology. Learn about the Whistler area and the biodiversity of the Coast Mountain Range. The rainforest here is mostly coniferous giants such as Douglas fir, Western Hemlock, Western Red Cedar, Amabilis Fir and Sitka Spruce. It is common to see trees that are hundreds of years old and in the nearby Elaho Valley there is a stand of Douglas Fir that is over one thousand years old.

Day Two: Wednesday, January 23 - Ski Instruction/Afternoon Skiing/Off-Hill Ski Cli...
Note: All skill levels welcome; skiers will be grouped according to skill level. Four full day lift passes are included and provide access to both Whistler and Blackcomb mountains including the PEAK 2 PEAK Gondola, Terrain Parks and Superpipe, and Mountain Orientation Tours.

Breakfast: Breakfast at the hotel.

Morning: MORNING EXERCISE: Each morning an optional pre-ski group stretch class will be offered at the hotel.


SKI INSTRUCTION: Join qualified instructors from the Whistler Blackcomb MAX4 Snow School for information aimed at improving your skiing. With no more than four participants per instructor, articipants will get more personalized attention, and exceptional value. From basics for beginners to technical tips for expert skiers, your expert instructors will set you on your way to maximize your enjoyment on the mountains.

Lunch: Lunch voucher (valid at any one of the 17 mountain restaurants).

Afternoon: Continue to explore Whistler Blackcomb independently or with your group leader who will be on-hand to provide ongoing tips to help improve your skiing technique.


APRES-SKI: 5:00-6:00 p.m. Optional apres-ski cocktail hour; Each evening, participants are invited to join our group leader, (Dutch treat), to relax and share the highlights of your exhilarating day.

Dinner: Dinner on your own to explore the many dining options or join your group leader. Whistler satisfies all palates with delectable choices; experience fresh food, amazing views, and mountainside venues. Award-winning restaurants and chefs offer appetizing fare from different ethnicities and regions, with many featuring organic and locally sourced ingredients.

Evening: PRESENTATION: Off-hill Ski Clinic: "Ski Visualization", an in-depth talk and DVD, will introduce ways to help refine the core competencies of ski technique for beginning/intermediate to intermediate/advanced and advanced level skiers. Examples of a range of helpful exercises will be discussed which focus on stance and balance, turning with lower body, pressure control, balance on edges, timing and coordination.

Day Three: Thursday, January 24 - Full Day Skiing/Squamish Lil'wat Muesum
Breakfast: Breakfast at the hotel.

Morning: FULL DAY SKIING: Continue to explore Whistler Blackcomb with your group leader. Daily opportunities will exist for some coaching and guided skiing at Whistler Blackcomb. Located in the Coast Mountain Range of British Columbia, Whistler consistently offers the most reliable snow conditions, receiving an average annual snowfall of 33.5 feet. Due to Whistler's coastal proximity, temperatures are moderate through the winter season, rarely dipping below 12°F in the valley and 5°F in the alpine during the coldest part of the year.

Afternoon: SKIING CONTINUES: Whistler Blackcomb boasts 8,100 skiable acres; three glaciers, 37 lifts,16 alpine bowls, one vertical mile, over 200 trails and two mountains connected by a pedestrian village.

Dinner: Enjoy a traditional aboriginal dinner at the beautiful Squamish Lil'wat Museum.

Evening: FIELD TRIP: The Squamish Lil'wat Museum, Gallery and Cultural Centre. Explore Whistler's rich Aboriginal Heritage including ceremonial drumming and dancing; and a traditional dinner at the museum. Discover the joint history of the local Squamish and Lil'wat peoples and get a glimpse into their culture, creative works and heritage.

Morning: FULL DAY SKIING: Continue skiing Whistler Blackcomb - for some of the best skiing in North America. Choose from more than 200 trails in the 8,100 skiable acres. The two mountains are connected by a pedestrian Village.

Lunch: Lunch voucher (valid at any one of the 17 mountain restaurants).

Afternoon: SKIING CONTINUES: Enjoy the beautiful mountain vistas, ancient forests, crystal clear lakes and rivers, and fresh, clean air. Much of what makes Whistler such a unique and memorable destination lies in its awe-inspiring and pristine natural surroundings.


APRES-SKI: 5:00-6:00 p.m. Optional apres-ski cocktail hour; each evening, participants are invited to join our group leader, (Dutch treat), to relax and share the highlights of your exhilarating day.

Dinner: Dinner on your own to explore the many dining options or join the group leader. The Village Stroll is a stone, pedestrian-only causeway that allows you to wander freely while exploring local shops, restaurants, cafe and art galleries. The Stroll also provides direct access to the gondolas for Whistler Blackcomb.

Evening: Enjoy this evening at your leisure. For those with endless energy, explore Whistler village independently or simply relax after a rewarding day on the slopes in the warmth of an indoor sauna and hot tub.

Day Five: Saturday, January 26 - Presentation by Olympic Athlete/Olympic Park/Afte...
Breakfast: Breakfast at the hotel.

Morning: PRESENTATION: Olympic Athletes. Through the Canadian Olympic Whistler Sport Legacies, there will be an opportunity to meet with an Olympic athlete who will speak to our group about their sport - their passion, success and challenges. A donation is paid directly to the athlete.


FIELD TRIP: Olympic Park. Experience the thrill of the 2010 Winter Games firsthand at Olympic Park; host of many of the skiing events. Located 18 kms south of Whistler, it was the first Olympic Nordic venue to include all three traditional Nordic sport stadiums in one site: cross-country, ski jumping and biathlon. See exciting legacies like the Whistler Sliding Centre, Whistler Olympic Park and Whistler Olympic Plaza.

Afternoon: AFTERNOON SKIING: Enjoy a full afternoon to ski Whistler Blackcomb, a genuine winter wonderland. Aside from the best skiing and snowboarding in North America, Whistler offers endless ways to enjoy the great outdoors including Nordic skiing, heli-skiing, snowmobiling and backcountry options. Choose your own speed, from easygoing to extreme adrenaline adventures, and everything in between.
