Arrive To: ARRIVALS AND ORIENTATION: Independent arrivals to Coleman in the Crowsnest Pass; check-in after 3:00 p.m. There will be a pre-dinner welcome followed by evening orientation session and securing of fishing licenses. Complimentary wine and snacks on the first evening. A finalized schedule will be distributed at this time reflecting the best options for the week.

Dinner: Dinner at the B&B. Each evening a special menu created for participants will be served. Soup and a selection of salads accompany main course items that reflect the source local ideals of our 2 certified chefs. Morning: PRESENTATION: Mechanics of Fly-Fishing. A morning instructional session will cover the mechanics of fly-fishing including: rod preparation, fly-tying, and casting. HANDS-ON EXPERIENCE: Dry land practice. Securing of fishing licenses, and time for hands-on dry-land practice. Participants will notice that our daily fishing trips start later than what many feel is the "appropriate" fishing times. The reason for this is our water is very cold in the early hours compared with points further south and at lower altitudes. With the warming of the sun the bugs hatch and the fish become active; more likely to bite. As we say " Crowsnest Pass fish sleep late". There are several places to grab some gear/flies here, and we will be stopping at one for any last minute items on the first day as we head out. Limited on site sales are available as well, and guides will have a collection of various things for your use on the river.

Lunch: Bag lunch in field. Each morning a selection of breads, meats, cheeses, vegetables, fresh fruits and baked goods are presented for each participant to build their lunch just the way they like it. Afternoon: FISHING: Afternoon fishing session on one of the local streams with personalized instruction. With a guide to participant ratio of 5:1 there is always an opportunity to get extra help or ask a question. All our main guides/instructors are local and well versed in the ins and outs of fishing our local streams. Fish tales to follow in late afternoon to share experiences and ask questions.

Evening: HANDS-ON EXPERIENCE: Fly-Tying. An evening session will focus on fly-tying. Instruction and practice lead by a fly-tying expert; includes hands on experience.

Morning: HANDS-ON EXPERIENCE: Skills & Techniques. Depart for fishing site to practice skills and techniques learned. Guide/instructors are always available for more one on one help to improve your skills. On any given day the participants could find themselves at any of the following rivers: Carbondale River: Located south of town, it lies in the burn area from the Lost Creek Fire of 2003. Castle River: Located south of town, the headwaters are South and West Castle Rivers. A popular campsite is located near the confluence. Crowsnest River: Running directly through the five towns of the Crowsnest Pass makes this is an excellent river stop, even if only for a few moments.

Evening: EVENING ACTIVITIES: Fishing on Crowsnest river or interpretive trip to historical sites. As always our guides/interpreters will be on hand to offer interpretation or instruction and answer any questions you may have. Possible choices of activities include but are not restricted to: visiting Leech Collieries, downtown Coleman historic walking, Frank Slide interpretive hike with Travel Alberta trained interpreter. Activity is dependent on weather and participant interest.

Afternoon: Continuation of fishing session. FIELD TRIP: Underground Coal Mine. The interpreters from the mine will suit you up and take you into the world of the coal miner. Learn what it was like to work in the mine through the stories of the miners themselves as you are lead on a trip underground to where they actually went. Return for fish tale lounge information sharing.

Dinner: Dinner at B&B. Our big BBQ Alberta style. Choice cuts of Alberta AAA beef, pork, and chicken grilled up just so. Throw in some fish and you have the main course options. Accompanied by fresh salads, baked potato, Mark's special baked beans and Taber corn, serve it up out on the deck (weather permitting) and you have the makings of a celebration "Alberta Style".

Evening: FAREWELL EVENING: Farewell celebrations and group photo. Late evening fishing option following celebration.
