Description: Cumberland Falls State Resort is located in the Daniel Boone National Forest. Known as the "Niagara of the South," the waterfall forms a 125-foot wide curtain that plunges 60 feet into the boulder-strewn gorge below. The mist of Cumberland Falls creates the magic of the moonbow, only visible on a clear night during a full moon. This unique phenomenon appears nowhere else in the Western Hemisphere.

Breakfast: Breakfast in the dining room.

Morning: After Breakfast, discover the unique geology of the park with classroom instruction and a trip to Cumberland Falls.

Lunch: Lunch in the dining room.

Afternoon: Explore Appalachian geography with historical emphasis through classroom instruction/discussion.

Dinner: Dinner in the dining room.

Evening: Jam Session: enjoy performances by local musicians

Breakfast: Breakfast in the dining room.

Morning: Music of Appalachia with respect to history and local traditions.

Afternoon: Role of Religion in Appalachia presented with respect to the musical traditions of both mainstream and unique mountain denominations.

Dinner: Dinner in the dining room.

Evening: Learn about the nighttime birds of prey and have a chance at an up close encounter with a wild bird of prey.

Morning: Field trip to Natural points of interest.

Evening: Time on your own to enjoy the park or venture out into the local community.

Morning: Turning Obstacles into Opportunities. Socio-economic look at Appalachia with emphasis on minority populations.

Afternoon: Guided 1.5 mile nature hike focusing on the flora and fauna of the park.

Dinner: Dinner followed by Kentucky Chatauqua performance.

Evening: Overview of week, passports stamped. Desserts.

Day Six: Friday, October 05 - Program Wrap Up/Departure
