A MESSAGE FROM KATHY
|
June 2008
Dear Friend,
From Atlanta to Washington, D.C. to Boston to Martha’s Vineyard — as I’ve traveled
up and down the Eastern United States spreading the gospel about educational travel
and lifelong learning, I’ve received the same enthusiastic response from just about
every person I’ve met: “Thank you!”
“Thank you for creating learning and travel opportunities for an African-American
audience.”
As you know, there is a new generation of travelers out there. They are people who
want more than ordinary tourist experiences — more than just sunning on a beach,
shopping and snapping pictures from inside a tour bus. They want authenticity. They
want travel to be a rewarding, enriching experience.
For this new generation of travelers, we created Road Scholar.
Road Scholar offers a range of adventures, with many devoted to the black experience.
Whether you want to follow in the footsteps of Josephine Baker in Paris, participate
in Trinidad’s Carnival or discover the literary heritage of Richard Wright in
Natchez — there’s a Road Scholar program for you.
I encourage you to look through our newest collection of remarkable adventures in
Global Discoveries. And browse through our web
pages to find savvy travel tips and much more.
If you have ideas for new programs or ways to spread the word about Road Scholar,
I’d love to hear from you. Just click
here and send me an email.
Thank you for your interest in our new initiative.
With warm regards,
Associate Vice President, Road Scholar

What people are saying:
“This was my first Road Scholar program, and
I give it nothing but the highest marks. The group was full of smart, adventurous and fun people, and I feel like
we got to experience Carnival and Trinidad in their most authentic light.”
