Join architect Mark Keane for a hands-on experience as you learn to sketch the iconic UNESCO heritage site, Al-Khazneh, known as 'The Treasury' in Arabic. Petra is a historic site and archaeological city in Southern Jordan, famous for its rock-cut architecture and the picturesque kilometer-long gorge that leads directly to the Khazneh, the mausoleum of Aretas IV. The Nabataean kingdom became a client state of the Roman Empire in the first century, annexed, and then renamed Arabia Petra. During this draw-along online lecture, you’ll learn sketching concepts such as perspective, horizon line, vanishing points, light and shade. To make the most out of this lesson, visit https://www.roadscholar.org/sketching for important resources and details. RECOMMENDED PREPARATION: No drawing experience is necessary.
