September 27 – Bartok’s Fusion of Old and New

October 4 – Cuban and Latin American Composers of the 20th Century

October 11 – Electronic and Computer Music

October 18 – Orchestration


PUSHING THE FRONTIERS OF SCIENCE

In this series of lectures, Williams College science faculty discussed areas of their research that are expanding the frontiers of Chemistry and Biology.

September 13 & 20 – Polymeric Materials for Drug Delivery
A discussion of the use of polymeric materials in drug delivery applications; highlighting design considerations, synthetic strategies and material properties of research as well as other current examples of delivery vehicles.

September 27 & October 4 – Dealing with the Obesity Epidemic
An exploration of the various issues around this topic, including medical and economic consequences and how to address this epidemic, medically and socially.

October 11 & 18 – Nanoscale Structures
A discussion of the strategies for designing molecular scale wires for use in nanoscale structures.
