The Learning in Retirement, Inc. program in Athens, GA holds a regular Lunch & Learn series on Mondays. This past fall they covered the following topics:

Bones and Locomotion – One of the rules of anatomy is “function follows form.” Following that guidepost applied to humans as well as animals, the lecturer gave participants an over view of the osteology of selected mammals. He then demonstrated how form tells us about how different animals move, complete with lessons for the listeners.

Confessions of an Aging Bibliophile: A Life in Books – The lecturer, a retired English professor, talked about reading, life-changing books, and the rigorous demands and the delight that can be expected when we read good literature.

The American Woman: Who Will She Be? – A past State Representative, as well as an academic, the lecturer discussed the role of today’s modern woman.

Who Done It? – A forensic scientist delved into the intricacies of forensic science and its role in solving crimes.
