Director, Academy of Senior Professionals

Eckerd College, an undergraduate liberal arts college and a national
leader in lifelong learning, seeks applications for the position of
Director of the Academy of Senior Professionals at Eckerd College
(ASPEC). Founded in 1982, the Academy is a selective membership organization
of 320 individuals retired from distinguished careers in diverse fields
including business, education, government, science and the arts. ASPEC
members believe every stage of life can be a time of enrichment, accomplishment
and meaning. Members achieve this through active engagement with students
and faculty, other ASPEC members and the Greater Tampa Bay community.
Academy activities include member led seminars and interest groups,
intergenerational learning opportunities, community service and social

Responsibilities: The Director is the Academy’s
administrative and operations leader and primary liaison with Eckerd
College. The director works closely with the ASPEC senate and membership
on Academy matters and represents ASPEC on the leadership team of
the Special Programs division. This position reports to the vice president
and dean of Special Programs. For a full description of the director’s

Qualifications: Advanced degree; successful administrative
experience, preferably in an academic setting; strong organizational
and interpersonal skills; demonstrated success in leadership positions;
experience in lifelong learning programs desired.
Start Date: July 1, 2008 or as soon as possible
thereafter.
