15th ANNIVERSARY
Congratulations to the Center for Learning in Retirement at Rock Valley College in Illinois. 2008 is their 15th Anniversary year and big plans are being made to celebrate the happy occasion.

10th ANNIVERSARY
The Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at the University of S. Maine in Portland celebrated its 10th Anniversary last fall. Some 300 of the OLLI faithful turned out for the morning and early afternoon program that marked the festivities. It was a time to celebrate and take a look back at OLLI’s history since the first class was held in the fall of 1997.

Special tributes were paid to the founders, University administrators, and volunteers who helped make OLLI the program it is today.

The complementary fish “chowdah” lunch commemorated the famous one served at the 1997 organizational meeting (150 expected, 500 showed up, thus the “chowdah” was well milked.) Some 320 places were set this time and no diluting was needed.

During the day’s festivities the OLLI Singers, Sixth Age Puppet Opera Company, the Senior Players and the OLLI Writing Workshop showed their well-appreciated talents. Congratulations, OLLI!
