SILVER ANNIVERSARY BOOKLET
The Guild for Lifelong Learning (formerly the Guild for Learning in Retirement) at the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee, celebrated their 25th anniversary during 2007. In honor of the event they published a full color booklet entitled “The Silver Anniversary of Milwaukee’s “Guilded” Age.” The 20-page booklet told the story of the program from its founding in 1982 up to the present time. Congratulations Guild on 25 wonderful years!

LLI AWARDS SCHOLARSHIPS
The Lifetime Learning Institute at Northern Virginia Community College in Annandale, Virginia awarded six academic and leadership scholarships to deserving undergraduates this past spring. Three of the scholarships were for $2,000 each and three were for $1,000 each. What a great way to help “cement” the relationship between the program and the host school. Well done, LLI!

LIR MEMBERS FEATURED IN LOCAL MAGAZINE
The April/May issue of Georgia Trend Magazine contained a picture and interviews with Barbara and John Rudy and Janet Stratton, all members of Learning in Retirement, Inc. affiliated with the University of Georgia. Congratulations all!

BETA ZETA HONORS CLL
Picture the Center for Lifelong Learning at Northwest State Community College in Archbold, Ohio in a box – a shadow box, that is! The CLL was honored to be deemed the jewel of Beta Zeta chapter’s local long-term projects, and was featured in their jewel-box (shadow-box) display at the Delta Kappa Gamma state convention in April. Over 150 chapters of the world’s largest international society of women educators was invited to submit boxes show-casing their programs. Believed to unique in this service to the community, Beta Zeta has been a supporter from the beginning of Northwest State’s concept of a lifelong learning center, almost twenty years ago. With members from each of four northeastern Ohio Counties, the chapter has continuously committed both financial support and service to the Elderhostel Institute Network-affiliated program. The jewel box contained examples of the CLL Travel/Study programs, seminars, and important links like the one to EIN. Congratulations, CLL!
