ADVENTURES IN LIFELONG LEARNING, UW-PARKSIDE, KENOSHA WI CELEBRATES
10 YEAR ANNIVERSARY IN 2008
Adventures in Lifelong Learning (ALL), with the University of Wisconsin
at Parkside in Kenosha WI, is holding a year long celebration of its
10th anniversary. A special logo and motto has been designed, and
we are repeating some of our earlier successful programs. Our first
lecture program was about a local art museum in Racine WI, and its
director will be returning on July 7 to give us an update on their
progress since that time. A bus trip to tour churches in Milwaukee
was repeated in April.
Our Annual Meeting and Luncheon on June 16 will be honoring those
who began our organization in 1998. Guests of honor will include Parkside’s
retiring chancellor, Jack Keating as well as Tom Schnaubelt, Dean
for Community Engagement and Mark Marlaire, Director of Continuing
Education, who is our liaison and mentor. Guest speaker will be Esther
Letven, retired Associate Vice Chancellor for Extended Services, Parkside.
A history book of our 10 years has been created and will be distributed
at the annual meeting.
To start off our next ten years a special Anniversary Gala will
be held on the evening of September 16 at the Marriott Hotel. Speaker
for that event will be Kevin Reilly, President of the University of
Wisconsin. Music, camaraderie and reminiscences will complete our
year of “Learning Lights our Lives”.
