Road Scholar Educator of the Year Awards allow deserving, experienced educators to discover
Road Scholar programs throughout the United States and around the world. Winners will be able
to use their awards toward any Road Scholar program.
Eligible applicants included active teachers, principals, superintendents, school nurses,
school librarians, and guidance counselors with at least 15 years of experience in K-12 education.
This year’s winners are experienced, hands-on teachers. Bodenhamer has been an educator for
20 years and currently serves as a Gifted Education Specialist at two elementary schools in
the Clear Creek Independent School District, located southeast of Houston. She teaches students
in grades K-5 with a focus on a curriculum that explores grade level objectives while building
cultural bridges.
