Read our Q&A with Teddi Berlastky for more insight into what Road Scholar means to her:
Q: Why do you choose to learn with Road Scholar?
A:
I am interested in hiking while learning and the hiking programs always look interesting as well as providing me with an opportunity to be active with other like-minded people.
Q: What was your first Road Scholar program?
Q: We offer 6,500 learning adventures in all 50 states and 150 countries around the world. If you could pick just one of those programs, what would it be? Why that one? Why does that program speak to you?
A:
I have looked at a hiking and wine history in Northern California program. As mentioned above, I love to hike and this looks
like an opportunity to hike, learn about the topography of the area and enjoy wine! What could be bad?
Q: Describe your favorite memory from a Road Scholar program.
A:
Walking up to the edge of the Grand Canyon for the first time. I teared up — it was so unbelievably gorgeous.
Q: What's the most interesting thing you've learned on a Road Scholar program?
A:
Learning about the controlled burns of the ponderosa forest at the Grand Canyon was fascinating and also about John Wesley Powell.
Q: Outside of Road Scholar programs, how do you like to challenge your mind?
A:
If you can’t already tell, I love to read and hike.
