For two centuries, Asians have been bystanders in world history, reacting defensively to the surges of Western commerce, thought and power. That era is over. Asia is returning to the center stage it occupied for 18 centuries before the rise of the West. The U.S. (buyer to the world) and China (factory to the world) have, respectively, the largest and fourth largest economies, but they will reach parity in 2015. Through thought-provoking, pre-conference panel discussions, lectures and presentations, gain rare insight into the new and emerging relationships between Asia and the United States. We are proud to offer a special, behind-the-scenes program in conjunction with the 24th Annual Camden Conference.
Camden (Maine)
From atop the cool waters of Penobscot Bay, one can see the Camden Hills and rock-rimmed islands that dot the harbor of this coastal town. Following a tradition of fishing and shipbuilding, boating remains a top recreational activity in Camden.
