Learn about these islands, first settled by Polynesians between 300-600 A.D. while hiking, kayaking, snorkeling and surfing in paradise. Explore Hawaii's mountains up close with naturalist-led field trips: hike into Haleakala National Park, up the slopes of Diamond Head, along mountain ridges, through stream-eroded valleys, and to a waterfall. Venture into Hawaii's waters through river kayaking in Kauai and surfing off Waikiki Beach - with majestic Diamond Head as the backdrop! Gain an appreciation for island culture as you examine ancient heiau (sacred sites), the hula, and traditional crafts.

Kayaking up to two hours, easy paddling along river; hiking up to six miles (elevation gains to 1,500 feet). Participants must be good physical condition and able to swim; consultation with physician highly recommended. Free day on Oahu. Inter-island flights included, baggage fees not included.
